Happy Easter!

We had such a fun Easter weekend this year. On the Thursday before Easter we had a great time dying eggs with some friends. I have such great memories of dying eggs when I was a kid. Annika LOVES anything that has to do with eggs--eating, cooking, cracking, coloring, whatever--she's in. It was so fun to watch the two girls and their dads coloring eggs together.

On Saturday we went to the Thanksgiving Point Easter Egg-streme. It was just as crazy as last year, but so much colder! Imagine kids ages 0-3 years old running out into a field of grass with their crazy parents, grabbing at least 2,000 eggs in about 4 minutes. After Annika got over all the kids taking "her" eggs, she loved grabbing the eggs Tony gathered himself around. Her favorite thing was opening all the eggs and seeing what was inside. It was so fun to see her face light up when she discovered a surprise inside each egg. Annika is at such a great age for this stuff because there are no expectations, just pure excitement and joy.




On Sunday we got to go to the airport and welcome home Tony's brother Jared from his mission! It was so fun to see him and spend some time with Tony's family. We are very excited that Jared is headed here soon to work and go to school! It will be so great to have him around!

We had such a great Easter celebration rich with tradition, family, and reflecting on the true meaning of Easter. Tony taught Annika that we celebrate Easter to remember the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It was SO CUTE to hear her say what Easter was all about. She is learning so much right now and is grasping so much of what is going on around her. It is amazing!
