To Texas and Back

The last few months have been a little crazy around here...but a good crazy! Here's a little update: At the end of April, right after finals were over, Tony left for Texas, yet again. We were hoping he would only have to go for two months, but a few days before he left we found out his job wouldn't be here when he got back like we thought. So when he left we weren't sure exactly how things were going to work out. I didn't think I could do a whole summer with out him again, so we were talking about joining him in Texas after I was done coaching soccer for the season. However, that didn't quite sit right with me and for some reason I felt like we shouldn't give up on him coming home in two months, like we planned.

The day Tony left he quickly mentioned to a friend he might be gone for the whole summer after all, to which the friend replied, "Send me your resume." He was in hurry so there wasn't much explanation, and Tony and I thought, sure, why not, but we didn't think too much of it. Of course we thought wouldn't that be great if it did work out...but we weren't counting on anything. After he was out for a few weeks he got his resume updated and sent it over. A week or so later Tony got a call from our friend saying the company he works for was going to call and set up a phone interview with him. Tony also found out about the job and the company. The title of the position was Customer Success Representative at a software company called, @Task. After he called and told me about it, we thought, hey this could really work for us. The job was a really good fit for Tony as well, so we were optimistic. To make a long story, not any longer, after two phone interviews, a quick trip home at the end of May for an in-person interview, and a little bit of waiting, Tony was hired for the job! It meant he could come home, and stay home, we were so excited. He came home at the beginning of June and started work a few days later.

Words can't describe how great it is to have Tony home. We are so grateful for the ways we have been blessed the past few years during a very difficult time in many ways. We are incredibly thankful for the new job that Tony has and appreciate a lot of things in different ways than we did before. Tony still wants to work towards a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, but we are happy with where we are at for now, and aren't in too big of a hurry to get where we would like to be. We definitely have learned to be patient with life.

The next few posts will be a lot of pictures of what we have been doing over the past few months! Fun times with Tony home during the summer! Yea!
